X-Ray Diffraction

The DE-202 is the most common cryostat used for x-ray diffraction due to its lightweight and linear design, making it well suited for manipulation. Beryllium domes are available for attachment to the DE-302 (1.7K) cryostat which is also goniometer compatible.

The DE-302 is our lowest base temperature closed cycle cryostat. The DE-302 uses a Joule Thompson (JT) circuit of ILL design as a third cooling stage to achieve base temperatures below 1.7 K, with 40 mW of cooling power at 2 K. The DE-202 is at the heart of the DE-302 and is used to precool the helium gas used in the JT circuit. These system are non optical because the radiative heatload would dimish the cooling capacity.

This lightweight cryocooler provides the tight rotational clearance needed when teaming up with Huber goniometers and Bruker diffractometers. This is shown with Beryllium domes on both the radiation shield and vacuum shroud. There are also options for 180° Beryllium or Kapton windows. The LT3G-WMX-2D takes advantage of the angstrom scale vibrations to provide a unique cryostat for Speckled XRD.
