Flow Cryostats

The LT3 is the premier flow cryostat. With its Matrix heat exchanger and coaxial shield flow transfer line, the LT3 is one of the most cryogen efficient flow cryostats on the market. The ability to reach temperatures of < 2 K makes this flow cryostat well suited for just about any application.

The Helitran® LT3 is the backbone of cryogenic research when vibrations are a concern. The atomic resolution is achieved through its series of heat exchangers and the coaxial shield flow transfer line which ensures liquid at the tip. This system is available in either a UHV (LT3B) design or accepts its own series of vacuum shrouds.

The Helitran® LT3-OM is the optical microscopy flow cryostat. With its continuously adjustable sample height from 0 to 3 mm and its all stainless steel, high vacuum shroud (10-6 Torr), it is the flow cryostat of choice for microscopy experiments. The vibration levels of the LT3-OM are unmatched at +/- 5-10 nm (normal to the surface) and vibrations of +/- 5-10 nm planar to the surface. This system is available with a variety of options; please contact the factory for more details.

The LTR is our liquid helium flow cryostat designed to work for EPR, ESR, and NMR applications. The quartz cuvette can be set to work with Bruker, Jeol, or Varian microwave cavities. The quartz cuvette is removable by double o-rings and allows for fast sample change. The sample tube receive allows for liquid, powder or bulk samples.

LT4

The LT4 is an all-purpose, low cost flow cryostat. It interfaces with same series of vacuum shrouds and radiation shields as the DE-202 closed cycle cryostat. While it maintains the high cooling power of the LT3, it does not provide the same vibrational stability or the ability to pump down to < 2 K. The LT4B is the UHV version of the LT4.
