Window Materials
ARS cryostats are available with a large selection of optical windows for UV, VIS, and IR experiments.
- UV - 0.1 to 0.3 µm (100 to 300 nm)
- VIS - 0.3 to 1 µm (300 to 1000 nm)
- IR - 1 µm and beyond ( 1000 nm)
Custom window materials available upon request.
High Purity Quartz (SiO2)
Unaffected by most solvents, useful range 250-2500 nm (GE124)

Calcium Fluoride (CaF2)
Insoluble in water, does not fog.
W-X1-CAF
Cesium Iodide (CsI)
Soluble in Water, extremely hygroscopic.

Fused Silica - IR Grade
Synthetic quartz, Unaffected by most solvents.

Not hygroscopic, Slightly soluble in water. Soft, easily deformed.

Laser Grade. Insoluble in water, acids and bases.

Insoluble in water, acids, and bases. Reacts to strong oxidizing agents. Good resistance to thermal and mechanical Shock
