Advanced Research Systems DE-204 closed cycle cryostat for UHV applications

Description

The DE-204B is a versatile closed cycle system with high cooling capacity that has many applications in ultra-high vacuum research. The system typically includes a compressor, hoses, expander, temperature controller and sensor and heater instrumentation.

Adapted from the DE-204 expander design, the DE-204B has been modified from UHV capability. The DE-204NB and DE-204SB are modified versions of the two stage Gifford-McMahon refrigerator. This modification results in a lower bottom out temperature.

or 6.5 K to 350 K or 4.2 K to 350 K
(Options to 450K and 800K)
Iron -doped gold (0.07% atomic wt. Iron) verses Chromel thermocouple temperature sensor (other sensors available upon request)
50W foil resistance heater
High temperature brazed construction
Metal-sealed vacuum flanging
All welded skirt
6 pin or 10 pin UHV instrumentation feedthrough

Other Features Include:

Tested to 10^-8 torr (rated for 10^-11 torr)
Bakeable to 200°C with displacer removed (400°C without instrumentation)
Flange size and cold tip extension length adjustable to customer's needs
Only two moving parts easily maintained in the field without breaking vacuum
Requires only electricity and cooling water for operation.
